Teams consisting of a combination of office and remote workers have become commonplace, and in theory it should be a seamless operation, given modern IT technology solutions such as Zoom, MS Teams, SharePoint and others. But is it really the same, and more specifically what needs to change for the leader?
It turns out that leading a hybrid team is like leading any other team, only more so… For example, we know that empowerment of others is desirable for all leaders, but managing remote workers typically requires even greater autonomy and new approaches to performance monitoring.
